Corpus Linguistics in Legal Discourse

Abstract There are many different ways in which modern Corpus Linguistics can be used to enrich and broaden our understanding of legal discourse. Based on the central principle co-occurrence co-selection language construction, this paper reviews current applications area discourse focusing issues ranging from phraseology, variation discourse, translation, register genre perspectives forensic contexts evaluative judicial settings. It revisits notion ‘corpus’ it highlights relevance various types corpora computer tools linguistic research.
